The Action-oriented Approach: Enhancing Learners’ Agency Through Scenarios

After a presentation of the main characteristics of the Action-oriented Approach (AoA), this workshop will focus on the concept of action-oriented scenarios and how they support a shift from learning a language as an object to learning language as a mediation and plurilanguaging. First, participants will reflect together upon core aspects of the AoA and its possible applications to the teaching and learning of languages; then, in a second breakout session, participants will first examine a scenario in detail and then try their hand at elaborating a scenario.
