Abstract

Eloy Terrón (1919-2002). His intellectual personality and the study of education

This article is divided into two parts. The first part deals with the cultural configuring of the path towards progress in the intellectual personality of Eloy Terrón: the Hegelian conception of philosophy and Marxist humanism. The second part summarises his contribution to the study of education from four main approaches as a historian, teacher, politician, anthropologist and sociologist: the historical sociology of Spanish universities; the sociology of the school system; the theoretic and heuristic relation between anthropology, communication and education; and the evolutionary interpretation of the phylogeny and ontogenesis of man and of the dialectics of man and his medium in general.

Resumen

Este artículo se divide en dos partes. En la primera, se aborda la configuración cultural de la vía de progreso de la personalidad intelectual de Eloy Terrón: la concepción hegeliana de la filosofía y el humanismo marxista. Y, en la segunda, se resume su contribución al estudio de la educación desde cuatro vías principales de aproximación, como historiador, docente y político, antropólogo y sociólogo: la sociología histórica de la Universidad española; la sociología del sistema escolar; la relación teórica y heurística entre antropología, comunicación y educación; y la interpretación evolucionista de la filogénesis y la ontogénesis del hombre y de la dial éctica del hombre y su medio en general.
