Abstract
New patterns of educational visualization and decenteringSalto de línea Salto de línea The society we live in, whether we like it or not, is a culturally decentred society. As we are used to organising our way of learning and gaining knowledge according to the cognitive model, which makes reading and writing compulsory, and as the book has been taken by the school as the centre of the teaching and learning process, another cognitive model, the image model, now provides new ways of gaining knowledge and poses major challenges to teachers. It is not a question of substituting one model for the other but a question of bringing them harmoniously together.
Resumen
La sociedad en la que vivimos, querámoslo o no, es una sociedad descentrada culturalmente. Habituados a vertebrar nuestras formas de aprender y de conocer en el modelo cognitivo que impone la lectura y la escritura y habiendo asumido la institución escolar el libro como eje vertebrador de la enseñanza y del aprendizaje otro modelo cognitivo, el de la imagen, aparece ofreciendo unas nuevas formas de conocer y planteando grandes retos al oficio del educador. No se trata de sustituir un modelo por otro pero si de armonizarlos.
