The call is open to Australian citizens and citizens of Vanuatu and the Solomon Islands who do not reside in Fiji.
The Ministry of Education does not charge application fees. If you receive any request for a payment to submit your application, you are not applying for the official Ministry of Education program.
Your Profex 2 number must be the same as your valid passport number. The passport you use to apply for this program needs to have the following validity.
Passport validity: at least one year from the expected date of entry in Spain. As the program is expected to begin on 1 November 2026, passports must be valid until at least 1 November 2027. However, due to possible delays receiving your Letter of Appointment and the time it may require to obtain your visa, your program may start in December 2026 or even in January 2027. To allow for any eventuality, your passport should be valid until the end of January 2028. If your current passport is not valid for the period mentioned, please renew it before creating your profile on Profex 2.
If you have dual nationality, Australian and from a European Union (EU) country, except Spain, register on Profex 2 with your EU passport (with the same validity mentioned above) and select your EU country in the “Nationality” section. When submitting your application, in the “Relevant information” section, you will need to select the option “Australia – Education Office of Spain in Australia.” Upload both passports to Profex 2: the EU passport for your registration in the program and your Australian passport, which renders you eligible to take part in the “Australia – Education Office of Spain in Australia” option. You will have to enter Spain with your EU passport, no visa needed, which speeds up the process. Once in Spain, register with the EU Citizens Registry to obtain your NIE (Foreign Identification Number).
If you have dual Australian and Spanish nationality, you must register as Australian, with your Australian passport in Profex 2, as this program is for foreign citizens, not for Spanish citizens. You must enter Spain with your Spanish passport and you will not need a visa.
Applicants who have taken part in the Ministry’s Program during the 2025–2026 school year (whether they belong to the Ministry’s cohort or that of an Autonomous Region) should visit the website for the 2026–2027 call for applications
and follow the instructions they receive from the Ministry and/or the Autonomous Region.
On that page, they will also find information on renewing the TIE in accordance with the New Immigration Law.
