III Symposium on Hispanic Studies in New Zealand - NZUHS 2026

At the end of November, the third symposium of Hispanists will be held in Wellington, in which university professors from the 7 universities on the island where Spanish is taught, representatives from the Education Office of Australia and New Zealand, and the Cervantes Institute in Sydney will participate. The two previous symposiums were held respectively in Christchurch and Auckland.

To apply for presentations, both in-person and online, it is necessary to fill out the following form before July 30, 2026 https://forms.office.com/r/F6euEvarrW

The presentations will last 20 minutes with 5 minutes for questions and will be in Spanish.

In addition, we ask participants to record a 1-2 minute video briefly explaining the content of their presentation on this padlet https://padlet.com/asesoriawellington/nhuss-2026-efo43qzy9e0rajbj

To carry out the symposium, a grant was requested from the Spanish Ministry of Culture, through the HISPANEX call, and for this reason, we ask that the presentations have a very direct emphasis on Spanish culture and language, that is, on cultural, linguistic, or social topics.

We hope that this call can build bridges between university professionals in Aotearoa, promoting cultural research and internationalization.
